JAY PRIOR

Assistant Coach (16U)

Coach Prior grew up in Greenwood, Indiana and played three years of varsity baseball at Center Grove High School. He played shortstop and pitcher, and was selected as an Indiana All-Star in 2014. 

 

Coach Prior played his first two years of college baseball in Robinson, Illinois at Lincoln Trail Junior College. While at Lincoln Trail he served in many different roles on the pitching staff - ranging from starter to reliever. He was named a captain his sophomore year. While at Linclon Trail he helped the Statesmen to the NJCAA Super Regional. After junior college Coach Prior transferred to Lee University in Cleveland, Tennessee. While at Lee he came out of the bullpen in many different roles. During the summers throughout his collegiate career, he played in two different wood bat leagues, including the Ohio Valley League and the Great Lakes League.  

 

After his collegiate career was over, Coach Prior joined the Lee University coaching staff as a graduate assistant for a year while he was getting his masters degree. His role was to help with pitching staff, field prep duties and serving as the bullpen coach. 

 

Coach Prior currently serves as the Pitching Coach at Scott County High School in Georgetown.
